Lani Mercado, to join San Miguel Corp Board of Directors

After making buzz on her announced political comeback, the wife of actor-turned-senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla will be joining the Board of Directors of the San Miguel Corporation, Asia’s largest producer of food and beverage.
Officials of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), who requested anonymity, admitted yesterday they were caught by surprise and puzzled over the appointment to the SMC board of Jesusa Victoria Hernandez-Bautista, more popularly known as Lani Mercado.

Cristine Reyes won’t be coming back to primetime
A very reliable insider from the biggest television network informed pinoygossipboy.i.ph that the Eva Fonda starrer will not be coming to primetime.
Cristine Reyes was not offered a primetime series by her current mother studio, ABS-CBN. As consolation, she was given two lead roles. First, a weekly series in Your Song Presents and a Cristine Series under Precious Heart Romances. The network however, promised that Cristine will be given a lead role in a primetime bloc next year.

A very reliable informer told pinoygossipboy.i.ph that the sister of actresses Claudine and Gretchen Barretto gave birth in San Francisco, California just recently.

Angel-Aga movie, still pushing through
The news of Aga Muhlach teaming up again with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez for a new movie under Viva Films brought confusion for Angel Locsin fans who knew that the has been matinee idol will be paring up with the Only You starrer.
Just to clarify, the Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach movie is still pushing through.
Star Cinema further stated that cameras will start rolling once Angel’s current project, Only You, ends.

Spoken like a true trapo. Atienza advises Pacquiao on politics
It would come as no surprise should the boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao decide to run for a seat in Congress again. Last elections, he was defeated by opposition stalwart Darlene Antonino.
Whats seems to be annoying surprising is the fact that Former Manila mayor and DENR Secretary Lito Atienza advised Manny to seek House seat through party-list instead. He said that Manny should come up with a party-list advocating Sports. Did I hear that right? Since when did Sports or something to that effect become part of the marginalized sector?

New movie, make or break for Bea Alonzo
Former primetime actress Bea Alonzo will be starring in Star Cinema’s latest offering in the box office, And I Love You So.The Wedding starrer Derek Ramsay. Opposite her are Pinoy Big Brother alum Sam Milby and
Bea, however, expressed her qualms about the movie. She was quoted in the vernacular saying, “Nasanay na kasi ang manonood na makita akong kasama si John Lloyd. Eh dito first time kong makakasama sina Sam at Derek Ramsay, tapos bukod sa mature ang role ko, mature pa talaga ang theme ng movie. Make or break talaga para sa akin ang film.”

Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao signs exclusive contract with GMA-7
In spite of her many appearances in ABS-CBN, the mother of international boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao has signed a two-year exclusive contract with GMA-7.
Mommy Dionisia isc urrently part of the new GMA-7 sitcom Show me the Manny, topbilled by her son Manny and primtime actress Marian Rivera.

It was reported months ago that Francine Prieto was selling her house. Many speculated that the sexy starlet is currently undergoing financial difficulties. The sexy starlet however belied the claims stating that her decision is Feng Shui related.
Months after, Francine is not only rumored to be selling real property but personal properties as well.
Given the current economic aftermath we are experiencing, there is no surprise that even stars and starlets are being affected. I guess a profitable investment is indeed a must.

Baby with two heads born in Manila

A tricycle driver’s wife gave birth to a two-headed baby at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila, Tuesday night.
Salvador Arganda, tricycle driver, said his wife, Chaterian, gave birth to the baby around 8:45 p.m. He said he last saw their baby around midnight at the hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit.
Arganda said they had suspicions that Chaterian was carrying two babies because both sides of their families have twin members.

Victoria "Posh" Beckham, caught picking her nose!
Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham takes charge during a photo shoot for her upcoming autumn/winter dress collection. The models, including Victoria, were wearing designs from her collection as they sat on swings which hung from the front of Georgian townhouses.
Beckham both directed the shoot and modeled one of her dresses at the same time, a Carmontelle cashmere-blend grey dress, which she wore with burgundy high heels.
Despite the glamorous shoot, Victoria proved she’s not always picture perfect when she was caught picking her nose on set.

3 Filipinos get HIV everyday!
According to data by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Philippines has seen an “alarming” increase in HIV cases in the past year, especially among overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and men who have sex with men (MSM).
“Last May, the country had 85 reported cases of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the highest ever in the country. That’s like 3 people a day, more cases than the A (H1N1) virus,” said Danton Remoto, UNDP Communications officer, at the country’s 1st National Conference on MSM, transgender, and HIV last July 22.
All HIV cases were transmitted through sexual contact, with 36% of cases transmitted through homosexual contact and 89% of cases caused by unprotected sex.
HIV patients are also getting younger and younger, with more HIV cases coming from (more…)

A very reliable source informed me that the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano had begged off from the offer. When asked why she begged off, my source said that the Diamond Star does not want to elaborate. Quite strange, the actress to whom this role was offered, Kris Aquino, has a very ill mother.
