Carlo J. Caparas, named national artist

Wrier, producer, and director Carlo J. Caparas was named National Artist for Visual Arts by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo yesterday.
The announcement was made in the airport before Her Excellency leaves for the United States to meet up with U.S. President Barack Obama.
He has made into films dozens of his komiks serials, most of which are now being remade in television, such as Bakekang, Ang Panday, Joaquin Bordado, Totoy Bato and Pieta.
Congratulations to Mr. Caparas!

when i heard about this in the news, i realized that anyone now can be called ‘national artist’. upside, baka may chance na rin ako. hahahaha
