Bea Alonzo: Made or Broken?
Monday, August 31st, 2009
I have previously posted in this blog the article about Bea Alonzo’s qualms that her new movie, And I Love You So will be a make or break for her.
The question now is whether this movie had broken or made Bea as an actress.
And I Love You So is the perfect vehicle for Bea and Sam to showcase their onscreen chemistry. After their first team up years ago in Close To You, Bea and Sam have developed a rapport that translates well onscreen. Derek’s role further underscored heartbreaking twists that people should watch out for.
Bea’s acting has solidified the claim that she had indeed transitioned into a mature actress, sans the pa-tweetums image. Bea did not lure her audience with the usual pa-kilig factor. She lured the audience with her real acting prowess.

personally, AILYS is not a make or break movie for bea. modesty aside, even bea herself said that, and i was cringing in disapproval. she’s already on top of her game, and i think people just wanted to know whether AILYS could very well be her vehicle to another level of stardom. albeit its pullout from SM cinemas, AILYS did not fail bea. it catapulted her away from her contemporaries and it proved that she can very well shine on her own merit.
bea’s superb acting plus good direction plus capable leading men plus good story
and supporting cast equal AILYS FEVER.
I wouldn’t say that this movie is a make or break for Bea.I think she was just being humble why she said that.Bea already proved that she is a very ,very good and talented actress. In this movie, she was able to prove that she can shine on her own without John Lloyd.

I think even before And I Love You So, Bea has already proven her worth as an actress especially in drama. And I think this movie just sealed Bea Alonzo as the finest actress of her generation besides proving to us, once again, that she will be remembered for her talent in acting just like Maricel, Vilma, Sharon, Judy Ann…
