Cory Aquino Cortege: My Ayala Experience

Since I have work today, I cannot join late President Corazon Aquino’s cortege.  I guess that was okay though as I have already paid my respects to her in LSGH during the weekends.

The Central Business District of Makati was inundated with people.  Almost all of them have come out of work just to see Tita Cory’s cortege passes by.  I was near the intersection of Paseo de Roxas and Ayala Avenue, where the Ninoy Aquino Monument is situated. I was almost in front of Robinson’s Building.

I saw a lot of familiar faces, friends, celebrities, and politicians alike.

I saw Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, with his son, walking before the Makati official vehicle.  I also saw equestrienne Mikee Cojuangco and chef sister China Cojuangco walking ahead of the truck where Tita Cory’s casket is.

I took several pictures of Tita Cory’s casket together with the soldiers guarding her for the last time.

After the truck carrying Tita Cory’s casket was the van which carries Aquino family members. I didn’t see Kris Aquino, perhaps she was on the other side. I was able to see cager husband James Yap though.

The next van carries Rafa Lopa with his windows open to shake the hands of bystanders.  On the same van was former DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman.

On the next bus, I saw former Aquino Executive Secretary and Senator Frank Drilon doing the LABAN sign.

Aside from people inundating the streets, confetti flooded the area.

Spotted: Hayden Kho and Vicki Belo in Ascott Makati

The source identified the couple as UST Med School alums Hayden Kho and Vicki Belo.  The two were reported to have split up due to the former’s sex escapades.  The two were seen at the Ascott Makati on (more…)

Spotted: Lisa Gokongwei enduring long queue with the general public during Cory wake

Lisa Gokongwei, daughter of billionaire John Gokongwei of the famed Gokongwei family, who owns Robinsons’ Malls, Summit Media, and Universal Robina among others, was seen lining on queue with the general public on the public entrance of the La Salle Green Hills on the event of President Cory’s wake.  Lisa was accompanied by husband Berck Cheng, who she first met at the Anvil Business Club.

Cristine Reyes, dating ADMU Sanggu president

A very reliable source from the other side of Katipunan informed me that Ateneo de Manila Sanggu President Gio Tingson is dating FHM Philippines’ Sexiest Woman.

Crisrine Reyes may have totally moved on with ex Dennis Trillo.  I have heard many stories about Gio and everybody I know who knows him seems to like him.  I guess Cristine have found a very good person on Gio.

Ex-coup plotter salutes Aquino

Twenty years ago, he took part in the bloodiest coup attempt to unseat former President Corazon Aquino, the nation’s first woman president who led a popular revolt that toppled the Marcos dictatorship.

Now, detained Marine Colonel Ariel Querubin, regrets never having had the chance to meet and shake the hands of the woman who “braved the dark of the night” and heed his call for a peaceful protest in 2006.

Over the years, he said, he learned to admire Aquino’s bravery and courage, even up to her final moments early Saturday morning when the former leader succumbed to colon cancer.

“It is no secret that I was one of those who led the coup against her administration in 1989 and I am glad that 20 years then, the wounds brought about by that exercise have begun to heal,” said Querubin through his spokesperson, Martin Loon, (more…)

Malacanang tried to withdraw Cory Aquino’s security last month; ADMU rejected Cory funeral on weekdays

The most popular daughter of the late Corazon Aquino revealed on national television that the Palace attempted to withdraw the constitutionally provided security of Former President Corazon Aquino.

 After Pamahiin and Shake, Rattle and Roll X comes Tarot from Regal Entertainment, and this will be Marian Rivera’s scariest horror flick coming to theaters nationwide this August!

Dingdong Dantes, barred from promoting own movie!

The primetime actor from GMA Network was barred by his mother studio to promote a movie where he plays the lead male role.

Dingdong Dantes was alledly prohibited by GMA-7 to join any promotional machinations to be launched by his upcoming movie, Kimmy Dora.

Speculations about the said prohibition aroused when the said male actor was a no-show on the pictorial for promotional photos of the movie.

Kris Aquino showed silent courage when Cory died

TV host-talent manager Boy Abunda said that former President Corazon Aquino’s youngest daughter, TV host-actress Kris Aquino was “very quiet” when her mother passed away at dawn on August 1.

Contrary to previous reports on Kim Chiu starring on a movie sans Gerald Anderson, it is in fact Gerald Anderson who will be premiering first in TV sans the chinita actress.
