Claudine Barretto’s Wikipedia entry says she is Gretchen Barretto’s daughter

A commenter caught my attention when he/she posted a portion of Claudine Barretto’s Wikipedia entry.  I know this is absurd but I find this funny.

According to the Wikipedia entry, “Recently, Barretto finally broke her silence on a long standing rumor, when she admitted that she was in fact the daughter of supposed elder sister Gretchen. According to her, her parents decided to keep the truth in fear for Gretchen’s budding career in the ’80’s. She also said that she was initially shocked at the revelation, but has now managed to cope with it. She also asked the public to not make any big deal out of the matter.”

This happens a lot in the the U.S. with people sort of sabotaging artist’s Wikipedia entries.  But this one is sui generis. Of course it was a hoax.  Though two Wiki entries about Gretchen (English and Filipino) have inconsistent birth years (1969 and 1970), it is impossible for Gretchen to give birth at the age of 10.
