There was an issue before that Ejay Falcon allegedly said that he is the reason why their pre-primetime series Katorse is rating high. Furthermore, Ejay allegedly said that if not due to him, Erich Gonzales won’t be as popular as she is today.

Ang Panday wins MMFF Best Picture; other awardees named!

The Metro Manila Film Festival’s awards night was held tonight, on my birthday. MMFF’s top grosser Ang Panday, starring actor turned politician now actor again before reelection Bong Revilla, grabbed this year’s most prestigious award, Festival Best Picture.
Star Cinema’s I Love You.. Goodbye, starring MMFF scandal-laden Gabby Concepcion and Rubi lead actress Angelica Panganiban, with support from Kim Chiu and Derek Ramsay, bagged the Second Best Picture Award. Horror-comedy flick Ang Darling Kong Aswang, starring Comedy Prince Bossing Vic Sotto and internationally-acclaimed drama actress Cristine Reyes, got the Third Best picture Award.
Contrary to the other Mano Po movie franchise, this year’s Mano Po 6, starring Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Divine Diva Zsa-zsa Padilla, with support from Heart Evangelista and Dennis Trillo, only got the Fourth Best Picture Award. UPDATE: MMFF has released the official figures for the first day showing of entries.
Ric Camaligan, president of the National Cinemas Association of the Philippines, said that movie-remake Panday starring actor turned politician now actor again before reelection Bong Revilla is leading the ticket sales of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2009. According to MMFF, they grossed at P16.9M at the first showing day.
Following behind with a very close margin is the horror-comedy flick Ang Darling Kong Aswang starring Comedy Prince Bossing Vic Sotto and internationally-acclaimed drama actress Cristine Reyes. They grossed at P16.8M at the first showing day.
Regal’s Shake, Rattle, and Roll XI starring Ruffa Gutierrez, Maja Salvador, and Mark Anthony Fernandez grossed at P16.2M at first showing day.
Far behind at fourth and fifth places respectively are Star Cinema’s I Love You… Goodbye starring MMFF scandal-laden Gabby Concepcion and Rubi lead actress Angelica Panganiban, with support from Kim Chiu and Derek Ramsay, grossing at P11.7M at first showing day; and the comedy flick Nobody, Nobody but Juan starring Comedy King Dolphy and his sons, grossing at P8M at first showing day.

Manny Pacquiao to file defamation charges against Mayweather
Boxing superstar and Wapakman lead actor Manny Pacquiao is planning to file libel, slander, and defamation suits against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Floyd Mayweather Sr., and Golden Boy Promotions.
Mayweather and Golden Boy Promotions came out with a press release threatening to put a stop to the projected biggest fight in boxing history between the two top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, by asking too many unrealistic and unprecedented items on the bargaining table, including that of an Olympic-style drug testing.
